Masking an odour is not treating it
An air freshener or a scented spray hides the smell for a while. It returns when the cause is still there: liquid or dirt inside the fabric or foam. We try to treat the source, by extracting the contamination from the fabric with hot water and a suitable treatment.
Why some odours don't fully come out
If the contamination has reached:
- the foam,
- the padding,
- the wood or inner structure,
a surface treatment doesn't reach all of it. In those cases it can improve a lot and still leave some odour. We don't promise total removal or a free repeat clean.
Odours we treat
- Urine from children, dogs or cats
- Pets: dog and cat smell, hair
- Damp and mould: musty smell
- Smoke
- Spilled food and drink
- Vomit
- General use odour
What affects the result
- How long the odour has been there
- How much liquid has penetrated
- Whether it has been treated at home before
- Fabric, padding and construction of the furniture
- Whether the furniture has been in a closed or damp place
How we do it
- We inspect the furniture and locate the affected area.
- We pre-treat the area.
- We extract with hot water using a Kärcher textile extractor.
- If necessary, we repeat the treatment on that area.
- We give you drying and ventilation guidance.
Price
Odour treatment is included in the normal cleaning of the furniture. It is not a separate service. See pricing.
